BLAM UK CURRICULUM RESEARCH REPORT:
“Eradicating Anti-Blackness in the UK Education System: Achieving Curriculum and Policy Reform Through Litigation”

  • Curriculum reform has failed. Any changes made over the years have not produced real change for Black children and therefore is continued systemic violence.
  • This research is the first legal challenge against the UK government due to the impact of the racism of the curriculum on Black children, with expert legal analysis advocating for systemic change through strategic litigation.
  • Research shows that Black children are disproportionately excluded and subjected to harsher disciplinary measures compared to their peers in schools.
  • The current educational curriculum fails to adequately represent the contributions and histories of Black people, leading to a lack of understanding and appreciation of Black culture and heritage.
